The traditional scale and massing of the adjacent original city ‘village’ was adopted and manifested vertically in a ‘Metabolist’ fashion. The traditional ‘Hanok’ housing with internal courtyards was used as a reference for the residential elements.

The manifesto was for a sub-city that at its core combines design and craft education with traditional Korean culture providing an alternative to university education and corporate employment
Affordable housing was weaved between dynamic cultural and academic uses providing a self-sustaining vertical sub-city and key (Seoul) city destination. Sky taxis and cable cars allowed for top/down entry into the sub-city reducing the dependency on vehicular transport
